ABA Resources
There are many agencies and programs designed to support families affected by autism who are facing hard times and need financial support. Some of these are available to all families who meet financial criteria, while others are specifically designed to support individuals with disabilities. We recognize that many funding sources are receiving high volumes of requests and may not have the capacity to fund every need. However, we encourage you to explore all of these different funding sources to determine the best fit. https://www.autismspeaks.org/financial-autism-support
How to Find and Verify Providers
Insurance Directory: Start with your insurance company’s official portal to find "in-network" providers. This ensures the lowest out-of-pocket cost.
BACB Registry: Use the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) website to verify that a provider is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). https://www.bacb.com/contact-us/
Local School Districts: Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), public schools must provide a free and appropriate education, which often includes ABA services at no cost if deemed necessary for an Individualized Education Program (IEP). https://www.ed.gov/laws-and-policy/individuals-disabilities/idea
Medicaid: In most states, Medicaid covers medically necessary ABA therapy for children under 21. Contact your state's Department of Health and Human Services to check specific eligibility. https://www.medicaid.gov/
